After an engineering career in industry and evening studies at Elm Bible School, I received a call from the Assembly of God to plant a church in Caledonia, NY. We started meetings in the home of a member until we located a building in Calendonia.
With the help from others Assembly Churches, we started a storefront Church and reached out to our community. Many improvements were made to the facility over the years to accommodate the growth. The vision was fulfilled and after 30 years of ministry, we moved into the newly renovated sanctuary and continued to see the Harvest of Souls.
Rita loves Jesus very much and has been playing for him for over 40 years. She’s the wife of Pastor Bob Messmer and the First Lady of the Church. Her smile welcomes everyone and her hugs include them too. She ushers us into the presence of the Lord every Sunday we’re together.
